BAY LEAF EXTRACT

Indonesian bay leaf (Syzygium polyanthum (Wight) Walp.), commonly known as daun salam, is an evergreen tree belonging to the Myrtaceae family. Native to Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia and Malaysia, its leaves are widely used as a culinary spice and traditional medicinal herb. The leaves are rich in bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, tannins, saponins, alkaloids, essential oils (eugenol, citral, and myrcene), and phenolic compounds, which contribute to their antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antidiabetic properties.
